Opening the show
Inder Manocha has performed stand-up comedy all over the world since 2000. He has played all the major comedy venues across the country, from the Comedy Store to Jongleurs to the Hackney Empire. He has made successful appearances with the Comedy Store’s critically acclaimed ‘Cutting Edge’ team (improvised comedy on topical issues). In 2004 he won the EMMA Award (Ethnic Multicultural Media Award) for Best Comedy/Comedian, beating Meera Syal, Lenny Henry and Three Non-Blondes.
He also appeared this year in Madonna’s directorial debut ‘Filth and Wisdom’, in which he plays one of the lead characters, as well as the BBC3 sitcom ‘Pulling’. In 2007 he appeared in E4’s ‘SKINS’ in the role of Anwar’s father.
“… [Manocha] perfectly captures Britain’s infatuation with ethnic integration. Elaborate and engaging, this is a perceptively witty show… conjuring up a belly full of laughs with sharp-shooting cultural observations… when his feisty spirit is fully unleashed, this is one of the hottest platefuls around.” Three Weeks, August 2006
"A relaxed, amiable presence... an easy chemistry with his audience... Enjoyably bawdy... impressive imaginative leaps... Cole delights in wordplay and possesses a mixed bag of excellent & self-consciously groan-worthy puns" The Scotsman, March 2010
"Impressive. You can tell he's a comedian by his ridiculous haircut" - AUTOSPORT
As a stand-up comedian he is appearing at all the major comedy clubs around the country, including MCing for music events at The Royal Albert Hall and supported Russell Brand on his UK tour.
He is also a member of rising sketch act, Pros From Dover who have written and filming a show for Five.
He is currently filming across the globe for the 'Dave' Channel as presenter of The World Rally Championship as well as presenting a regular show on the NME Radio.
Neil recently recorded his contribution to BBC Radio 4's comedy show, 28 Acts In 28 Minutes, and hosted interviews, promos & links at the London Premiere of Spider-Man 3 for Sony Pictures Television.
